Dillon’s great year (2011)

Dillon and Rick Mullen finished Dillon’s AKC agility MX and MXJ this year. This allowed them to qualify for both the 2012 AKC National Agility Championship (in Reno, NV) and a chance to participate in the 2012 AKC World Team selection tryouts.

Zoe and Lisey

Anyone who has seen me work with Lisey will understand when I say that I entered her in Rally Novice on a lark, and in part because the entries were so low. I didn’t expect to qualify. It was quite an experience since she spent most of her time in the ring on her two rear legs, but she paid enough attention to qualify and we got 4th place. I think she did it to force me to show her in Rally again.

Zoe did great on Saturday and we got 2nd place in Novice B. Sunday was a different story. It seemed like there was something outside the ring that had her attention but we made it through our run. For sits and downs the rain became so strong at times that one couldn’t hear himself speak. Zoe was trembling from the time we entered the ring but she held her stays and we got her 3rd leg. So Zoe now has CGC, RA, CD. We’ll be going for Grad Novice in November.

Rocket – Wildcard Novice

The Rocket Dog took first place in Wildcard Novice in Murfreesboro, TN on Saturday with a score of 192.5. This was the first time I’d heeled with him off-lead in competition and he did a nice job and gave me very good attention. He had one bobble on an about turn, but quickly realized his error and came back to heel position. I chose not to have the heel-free exercise scored, but I don’t think the deduction would have been substantial. — Lisa Mueller
